Sorry that it has taken me a few weeks to get around to sending this email but I wanted to be able to show you the results of your generosity.
The send-off I received from the club was unexpected and all the more delightful because of that. I was wondering why so many old faces were turning up for the Medes Trip report!
Thank you so much for all the kind comments (and they were all kind) that you included in my “This is Your Life” photobook ( if you don’t know about This is Your Life, ask Paul or someone else old). Then I find out that you have all gone daft and actually paid good money as well; your generosity is enormous and I can’t thank you enough, especially as I still haven’t actually moved yet and therefore feel quite a bit of guilt at taking goodbye gifts before I’ve actually left!
Then you go even further and make me an honorary life member of the club …
it is difficult for me to explain why that meant so much to me, but it does and rest assured that I intend to make use of it in the future. I will still turn up like a fire-coral rash!
Attached are a photo of the new dive torch that I bought with your gifts (and because I can’t resist fettling, a photo of it mounted on my action video cam so I can see what I’m filming). For those of you who couldn’t be at my ‘do’ in person there is also a photo of the stunning cake that Mrs Mick made for me (note the diver is bald and is wearing two computers).
