Diving the Isle of Arran – Monday 30 June to Friday 5 July (5 days diving),
Saturday to Saturday on the island.
I have a limited number of places for Advanced Ocean Divers and above diving the Isle of Arran. This is a one-off opportunity to dive the island as there are very limited boat charters for the area.
What’s the diving like? Diving on Arran is hugely unique due to the South Arran Marine Protected Area – a marine ecosystem undergoing a phenomenal rate of recovery. Expect to see:
* Seagrass beds in Whiting Bay, Kildonan or Pirnmill, often with nudibranchs, pipefish or cat sharks and scattered starfish
* Maerl beds packed with fascinating little creatures
* Kelp forests and boulders, with large purple urchins, blennies and wrasse
* A flame shell bed, discovered in 2016 in Whiting Bay
* You may also be lucky enough to glimpse a migrating Basking Shark or some of the resident Harbour porpoises
* …and a few wrecks to keep the wreck junkies happy
Based on the island, near Lamlash Bay, there will be ample opportunities to explore this microcosm of Scotland – walking, cycling, heritage, waterfalls, distilleries – everything!
The charter cost will be ~£350. This excludes ferry, air and accommodation. Email me at rob@acasta.co.uk if interested…
Cheers
