RobM will be on-site at Eight Acre Lake on Saturday 11th July for OD Training with Debbie & Kelly. Anyone else wishing to pleasure dive is also welcome to come along.
Eight Acre Lake:
To get there, head along the M62 to North Cave and enter the site via the Mires Lane entrance. Directions can be found here.
The lake is smaller and shallower than Capernwray (about a third of the size and about 14m deep). Visibility can be reduced at the bottom, but is generally OK. There are less facilities on-site – for instance, air fills are not available, but they hire full cylinders for the cost of a fill (£4). There are basic changing facilities and toilets, and, there is a small shop and cafe (sometimes you can find some bargains amongst the kit for sale – my bright orange hood came from there!).
You will need to register at the site at a cost of £5 for 2 years. You will then need to pay £12.50 for a days diving, plus £4 per cylinder used.
